Technology and Ceremonies

Hello All,
I've been working on organizing and putting together a Power Point Slide Show for my children's Promotion Ceremony. What's a Promotion Ceremony?
If you don't know already, I homeschool my three children and participate in a local co-op. We meet each week with the other homeschool families enrolled in the co-op. The Mom's teach classes and the kids take them. It's just like school except our subjects probably have more variety than a traditional public school. My children love it! They get to hang out with other children from all different ages and backgrounds and learn new and exciting subjects from other Mom's. The Mom's in our co-op are terrific! They have different educational backgrounds and different walks of life, but are all united in furthering the educational experience of our children and unite together to give them the best experiences! We have a Mechanical Engineer, two nurses, two of our volunteers have Doctorates, and we have Mom's who have amazing life experience in raising large families which is a degree all in it's own!
We offer all sorts of classes from Sewing (where children learn to use a sewing machine) and complete projects such as blankets, aprons, purses, etc to Botany studying the growth and life of plants, to our High Schoolers who get some of their credits from Biology and Speech Class.
We run during the typical school year with the summers off. We take field trips together, have play dates, and uplift each other. We are a community in itself and I am so grateful to be a part of it! We are putting on a Promotion Ceremony this year for our children to mark the memorable event of what our students have accomplished!
Many of us go year round with homeschooling so there is not a set start point and stop point, and this Ceremony is a way for us take a moment out and uplift our children and bless them. It gives them a sense of accomplishment of all their hard work and for the Mom's too!
I am in charge of putting the technical program together and it took me a week and three different programs and two computers to do, but I finally got it done!!!! I felt like I was on top of the world, when I finished it!! I love technology, computers, ipods, ipads, Macs, programs, cell phones etc. But when you're working with software it seems to never get along well...there's always something that butts heads with something else. It's like looking at a complex jig-saw puzzle. If you study it hard enough, the pieces will click (it just takes a while sometime). Putting the slideshow together was like that for me. I didn't give up and kept at it and when I finally got it going, I felt wonderful like I had truly accomplished something! (LOL!!)
The Ceremony is tomorrow. My family is coming in for it and we are celebrating my youngest's birthday! It's gonna be a BIG day!!! Can't wait!!!
Say a prayer I manage to get through it without blowing anything up! The soundboard kinda scares me!
